"NASPCC supports the early detection of prostate cancer in recommending that, beginning at age 40 (35 for high-risk men, including African-American men and those with a certain or an indeterminate family history of prostate cancer) men obtain a baseline PSA and have a DRE; and thereafter have a PSA and DRE on an annual basis.
Men are responsible to know and keep track of their PSA’s.
An increase in PSA can be more important for men than the PSA number itself, and should be discussed with their physician."
